About

The Mother Behind The Moments That Matter:

Ashleigh Davis, the mummy behind the keyboard.

I am a blogger, freelance writer and inspiring author who has been known to overshare way too much. I’ve always had a lot to say and what better place to say it than on my very own motherhood blog.

If you aren’t a fan of bad language this is most probably not the blog for you. If you are comfortable with the word ‘shit’ and phrases like ‘why do I hate my kids? then The Moments That Matter most definitely is!

Only kidding, I absolutely adore my little girl 97.8% of the time. I am a first time mum to my daughter Alexis who was born on the 21st May 2019. She has made me laugh, smile, cry and has taught me many things about myself as well as motherhood.

I promise to share the full 97.8% of happiness and the 2.2% of absolute torture with you. As I said, I’m a compulsive oversharer and I hope to create a space where you feel you can share the good, bad and ugly too.

Was my journey into motherhood everything I imagined and more? Probably not, no. That doesn’t necessarily mean it was bad but it wasn’t the same as the movies that is for sure. Blockbusters don’t show or include the baby blues, dealing with that first poo after you give birth (you not the baby!) or baby products you most definitely do not need to waste money on.

On average, there are 360,000 babies born every day. That’s also 360,000 mums and dads in need of support.

What’s My Story?

I began my story way back in 2017 where I managed a travel and lifestyle blog. I have always had a passion for writing but I never saw myself writing about motherhood. I guess at the time my priorities were completely different back then. I spent many years writing about my adventures around the world. At the same time, offering lifestyle, personal growth and wellbeing advice. When I fell pregnant, I strongly felt that I needed support from people who had been through the experience. What better place to search than the internet? After endless hours of reading through old pregnancy forums dated back to 2007, I decided something needed to change. This is when I discovered a huge gap in the market for someone like me! I needed to get myself out there and help other mums and dads go through this journey.

Mummy, Mum, Mother, Grandmother or Mum-to-be. Whatever brought you here, just know that I am here to help and I will help you in any way that I can.

support and advice for first time mum

Now before we begin this story I highly recommend either putting your kids to bed or shoving them in front of Moana. Go and grab yourself a cup of coffee… *cough cough* I mean wine and sit back and relax. We’ve got a few tales to tell.

In the meantime, you can follow my story over on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook. I am social media MAD so make sure to pop up and we can have a chin wag, rant, moan, whinge (I supply both irritating husband and child-related advice/experience) or even a little cry together.

Thank you and enjoy!
