With such a variety of different baby products out there it’s often quite daunting to know whether you’re making a good purchase or not. Especially as baby products always tend to be at the pricier end of the scale. As a first time mum, there are many products I wish I hadn’t brought but then again there are some that I could not have lived without. I think it’s very hard to find genuine reviews on baby products without there being some sort of marketing scheme behind it. If you’re looking for reliable sources then Emmas Diary is a fantastic one! If not, you can always count on me.

So without further ado let’s talk baby monitors! Do we really need them or can we live without? I had my eyes on baby monitors for a good 6 months before finally deciding to get one. I looked at quite possibly every baby monitor going and even still had no clue which one to buy. When I came across the Lollipop Smart Baby Monitor I just knew it was the one for us. Not only did it have that sleek and stylish design but it also provided us with everything we wanted and more! The only question we had was whether or not it was worth the money…

You should never judge a book by its cover and whilst that is true you also can’t compete with something that’s super cute. The lollipop baby monitors caught my eye immediately with it’s modern and fashionable design. Some of the baby monitors I saw looked like a satellite phone from the ’80s so I wasn’t exactly immediately drawn into them. Like I said before you should never judge a product just on the design however, the Lollipop had the best of both worlds. I made sure to do all my research (obviously and even so this baby monitor came out on top. They had a variety of different colours to choose from but the second I saw the pink one I knew that was the one I wanted.

What design and colour scheme would you go for?

  • Turquoise
  • Cotton Candy Pink
  • Pistachio green.

The Lollipop baby monitor also has a 96% true cry detection rate. No need for any false alarms as this machinery knows exactly what to listen out for. I cannot stress the number of times I have thought that I heard Alexis crying and she was fast asleep. She also likes to make these weird little grunting noises in her sleep which I have quite often mistaken for crying in the pass. The best bit about the lollipop monitor is that it knows the difference between these noises and a real cry. Regardless of the noise, it will always notify you if it hears something that might not be a cry! All thanks to this product I know exactly when I am needed and when I’m not whilst always having that peace of mind.

Another great feature of this product is that you can view multiple cameras from one app. You can have up the 4 lollipop monitors going at the same time making it the perfect monitor for parents with more than one child. Ever felt that as a parent you needed to be in multiple places at once? well, this camera allows you to do just that. You can wave goodbye to the stress of having to be the mummy, daddy and nanny all at the same time. We currently only have one lollipop monitor but it’s nice knowing that we have that option if we one day decide to have more kids. I also like the idea of getting an extra camera for a playroom so that you can keep an eye on the little ones if you need to leave for 5 minutes.

I think the title of this one is pretty self-explanatory. Basically what I am saying is the advanced night vision is an understatement, it’s absolutely fantastic! This is a product that does not look like it’s come from the ’80s but more like something out of the future (no offence to anyone born in the 80s). I can have all the lights off in Alexis’s room but knowing that I can still see her clearly without disrupting her and waking her up for no reason.

There are 5 different positions that this monitor can be used in. We have tried out a variety of different ways and they have all had their individual advantages. For the bedroom, we now use a wall mount as Alexis has decided that she likes to play with it if it’s attached to the crib. Whereas, if we had this Lollipop smart baby camera when she was younger the crib attachment would have been brilliant. You can look at the different positions available in more detail on their website.

  • Wall-mount
  • Crib
  • Stand
  • Bond
  • Roll

One of my all-time favourite features of this baby monitor is the soundtrack option. You can control different sounds directly from your phone to play in your babies room. This is the perfect method for helping your little ones get to sleep especially if your little one is used to white noise. They play a variety of different white noises such as the sound of rain, a hairdryer and hoovering. As well as this they had a variety of relaxing melodies available. This little extra wasn’t necessary but is such a lovely little addition to the product. For me, this is something that set aside this product from all the others available in the same market.

Overall, my experience with this product has been great and I am very happy with it. The only fault I can say is that I didn’t purchase it sooner because it’s been such a godsend. I never thought about getting a baby monitor before now but I am so glad we took the plunge and got one. This was mostly because Alexis has always been in our room with us but very soon she will be transitioning into her own bedroom. That’s when It will become a vital part of our bedtime routine to ensure I don’t panic about leaving her alone.

It seems that baby monitors can be quite pricey investments but then again what in the baby world isn’t… Everything comes at a price! you’ve got the pram, crib, clothes, nappies and every fricking else in between. Say goodbye to expenditure cash because it no longer exists now your a parent. Although, I was a first-time parent I really did try to take a sensible approach. I knew that we weren’t made of money therefore, I wanted to make sure that we didn’t waste anything. I researched through the internet top to bottom to find the best deals at the best price. Why would I not want to share all that information with you!?

Now, where ever we are we can just hop onto the lollipop baby monitor app and watch her. It saves so much time and hassle of having to go up and down the stairs for no reason so overall I am very impressed.

Does it clip onto something? It looks a little top heavy to stand on its own

You can have it 3 different ways! mounted onto the wall, crib or standing up by itself! it’s not heavy at all 🙂

I’ve never seen a baby monitor look so sleek before! I don’t have any children of my own, but I’m adding this brand to the list of baby things I’ll possibly need!

The pink one is so adorable, I’m a sucker for all things pink.
