If you follow me on social media you will know that the other day was my 23rd birthday. Can you believe it? 23 years old! When I first started this blog I had only just turned 20 years old and had my whole life ahead of me. Over the past few years so much has changed. University, moving house and more importantly the birth of my beautiful daughter Alexis.
Since having a baby, my partner and I really haven’t managed to get out much. As awful as it sounds we have quite possibly pushed each other aside and not really made time for one another. Due to this I went in search of a romantic getaway to help us spend a little time together and remember as to why we are in love. That’s when I came across Secret Valley Glamping in Somerset, England.
I have always dreamt of having this romantic getaway with endless amounts of wine, a private hot tub and the great outdoors. But, I’ve never ever found the place? I was beginning to believe that my dream might not have actually existed until I came across these Wigwam Cabins.
Secret Valley Glamping:
After spending hours trying to decide which stay was best for us we eventually settled for the Hill View Wigwam. A gorgeous accomodation over looking all the natural beauty that Cobbs Cross farm had to offer. Each accomodation comes with your own private scandinavian wood fired hot tub, BBQ/fire pit and lastly a outdoor picnic table to enjoy all of your meals. There are only 3 of these types of accomodation so you do truly feel as if you’re on your own. If you’re looking for a little privacy for your romantic getaway then this is definitely the one for you.
Each Hill View Wigwam can sleep up to four people, there is an additional cost of £30 per extra adult (over the initial two people) per night. Depending whether or not you are staying during low or high season.
Making The Most Out Of Your Private Accomodation:
Secret Valley offer a variety of different accommodation but only certain ones come with private hot tubs. You have many options to choose from depending on what expereince you are after. They provide the option of Wigwams with or without hot tubs, shepherds hut, yurts, lodges or lastly belle tents. Each of these accomodations can offer you the sense of privacy as they are all strategically placed around the farm. Don’t worry, you’re not all on top of each other and everyone has their own area.
Secret valley definitely made our camping experience one too remember. They gave us the experience we wanted without all the hard work that usually comes with it. We just made sure to pack our personal bits and everything else was all ready and waiting for our arrival.
Time To Wine And Dine:
On arrival you will find yourself a free bottle of wine from the secret valley vineyard. I must say the wine was out of this world but don’t get as excited as I did otherwise you’ll end up in bed at 9pm on the first night… oops!
If you enjoyed your free bottle as much as I did you can book yourself onto a vineyard tour. Along with five acres of Vineyards growing five different varieties of grape: Pinot Noir, Rondo, Orion, Solaris and Reichensteiner. Red, White, Rose and Sparkling Wines can all be tasted and purchased during your stay.
The Great Outdoors:
Secret Valley suits both peace seekers and adventure chasers, with the outdoor activity centre providing a variety of activities and the surrounding hills supplies outstanding opportunities for a great hike or two. So, what exactly can you get up to during your Secret Valley stay?
- Farm Tours
- Outdoor activities
- Play barn
- Huge sand pit for children to play
- Get yourself a massage at the pamper pod
- coarse fishing at the onsite lake
- Wine tasting at the vineyard
- And lastly a variety of free activities on site such as pool and table tennis.
But of course, if you don’t plan on straying far from your Wigwam then no worries. Each stay includes two complimentary buckets of Wood for the wood fired hot tub or the fire pit.
In no way, shape or form was I asked to review this company however, I was so impressed with my stay. I could not resist in sharing my experience at Secret Valley Glamping with you all. Of course, just like all my reviews. All opinions are my own and I would not share or reccomend products/companies that I do not beleive you would enjoy and benefit from.
