Is there actually anything better than being asked to be maid of honor by your best friend? In December 2018, I received the best Christmas present I could have ever asked for. It was only an invitation to my longest, dearest, most loved friends wedding. Not just as your typical guest either, I was asked to become part of her big day and be her bridesmaid. Helping her plan everything from Wedding Venues to Hen Parties.
Being a bridesmaid can be a very exciting but scary process. Like, you’re seriously in charge of a LOT of things. If her day doesn’t go to plan you’re the one to answer her and tell her why. With that said, you know your bestie better than anyone else so don’t fear and I’m sure you’ll do great.
Let’s not think about the negatives because with this post I’m going to show you exactly how to be the best bridesmaid you can be.

Our Top Wedding Venue Choices:
Some couples know exactly where and what they want but if they don’t who’s there to lend a helping hand… you are. Spend an evening or two discussing options and looking at what’s available out there. Of course, this is also a great excuse to catch up over a glass (or should I say bottle) of wine.
Luckily for me, my best friend hasn’t got a clue as to what she wants which makes it so much more exciting for me. If you’re like her and struggling for ideas, look no further because we have come up with plenty for you today.
Hampshire
Hampshire is a beautiful county found in the southeast region of England. We found a spectacular never-ending list of places perfect for weddings. After having recently been searching almost everywhere we came across all the Hampshire wedding venues available. Although we still have a lot more researching to do, Hampshire definitely seems to be on the top of our list so far. If you’re stuck for ideas and this sounds like the kind of area you’d consider, definitely make sure to go and check it out.
Berkshire
Cutting very close to first place we have Berkshire. Berkshire is somewhere I’ve never actually visited before however, I would definitely love to now. After seeing some of the most fantastic wedding venues I couldn’t help but resist. There are so many different styles of wedding venues in Berkshire. My all-time favourite being their country styled barn theme. 19th-century barns, with antique beams and tapestries, setting the perfect scene for any rural wedding celebration.
Surrey
Even though this is last by no means is it least. Here we have my top 10 choices for Surrey wedding venues. I absolutely love the idea of having a Surrey wedding because there
Dress Shopping:
Apart from attending your prom at 16 years old is there actually a more exciting time to try on dresses? Trying on your wedding dress has got to be one of the most important parts of your wedding day. Well, at least I know it definitely would be for me. There are so many things you need to consider. Here are my top tips to ensure that you find your perfect dress with ease.
Hen Party:
Now for the fun! Although, normally it’s the bridesmaid’s job to plan and prepare for the wild night ahead. I personally feel it’s always good to get a little inspiration from the bride herself. Does she want a small lowkey event? or does she want a trip of a
There is no right or wrong when it comes to planning a hen party as long as your bestie gets the send-off she wants and deserves. Make sure to consider the following and you’ll be a party planning expert before you know it.
- Make sure everyone is on the same level when it comes to the budget.
- Know your party audience – consider everyone involved and their feelings towards the ‘theme’ (is the bride’s gran invited and will she appreciate blow up penis’s everywhere? if yes, then that’s ok)
- Don’t put too much pressure on yourself – most brides tend to have more than one bridesmaid so work together as a team! Great minds think alike.
- Make sure you sort out the transport beforehand – You want to make sure the evening goes as smoothly and is as relaxed as possible. Nobody wants to be standing out in the cold waiting 30 minutes for a cab now do they?
Last But Not Least, Have Fun With Your Girls:
Let’s be honest, this kind of thing only ever happens once or twice. Unless unlike me you have loads of friends or you’re a wedding planner by trade. Although, it’s easier said than done please do not stress. Make sure you, your bestie/sister/mother have fun and it will be a memory that you will both treasure forever.
