Taking Your Blog A Step In The Right Direction – From Dream To Plan

The Key To Blogging

Let’s be honest, you’re likely a very intelligent and creative person. Only people with excellent minds are able to conceive their dreams in the first place, so it’s likely you have all the power in the world to make this a reality. But taking that first step can be a tough time.

Not only are you likely fraught with doubts and feeling not good enough compared with other bloggers, but it also might be some practical steps holding you back. Funding, for example, is one of the most common. Can’t afford the same blog theme as Zoella? Well, that’s ok… Don’t stress.

There are many methods around this. Taking small steps to create your plan, be that over the course of a few years, can add up to very big gains. What matters is that you try. Here are a few tips for doing so, no matter how humble your project might be:

Get Yourself A Website

It can be important to keep a centralized hub that explains who you are and what your project is. Of course, you can do this in a way that respects your privacy. You might decide to run a free blog, create a website for free using a website builder, or generally pay for a more expensive yet impressive domain name. You might even use small apps such as Depop or Spock to sell your wares, and going through services like this might set you up with more users from the get-go. It’s not uncommon for people to have their own stores through services such as Etsy or eBay. Be sure that this website is filled with information about your project, and has the capacity to inform those interested in the work you care to do.

From here, you have an online platform to advertise. This is your canvas, whether you are planning on using SEO to encourage the exposure of your site, or simply allow natural exposure to be generated through your other efforts e.g. Twitter, Instagram, BlogLovin or Pinterest

Funding is often the lifeblood of many a small project. If you have something that needs a sizeable pool of funding in order to make a reality, crowdfunding your project could be considered one of the best things to do here. First of all, you need to register yourself as a company through a service like Your Company Formations if you hope to impress your potential clientele with the goods you have to offer. Without it, you might find that the general scope of your offering is relatively limited, and doesn’t impress upon first viewing.

With a great crowdfunded campaign, people are much more likely to stay warm and interested in your project. Without it, you’re much more liable to struggle with funding. Have a realistic aim for funding, and never ask for more than you need therefore more likely to be successful. Do the most you can to illustrate your ideas without spendings, such as personal art or good writing summaries of what you hope to achieve to your audience.

Look for support from those around you, those who might share the passion you do. When a project is shared, then it has much more chance of being a likelihood. Be sure to differentiate roles between you and your partners, and also try to keep a cohesive vision throughout. The old phrase of ‘Too many cooks spoil the broth’ is important to keep in mind. This is why movies keep one director with a common idea who keeps the whole project moving along at a breakneck pace. Without that, it’s often difficult to find the common cause that allows a project to move with certainty, as a camel is a horse designed by committee.

Still, with a strong leader, resting the responsibilities on deferred members can allow things take shape much sooner, and allow people to enjoy a better product. Just be sure to only open the project to those you trust, those willing to make a commitment, and those willing to be patient about the reward they receive.

Daily Effort

A river is not created in one day. Instead, water trickles and settles a groove in the land. The volume of the water matters of course, but the reliable nature of this flow of water allows for a long-term result to be had. This means that in the same spirit, persistent effort towards your daily goal can lead to big things over time. This is important to know because working or uni can often take energy out of us. It might not feel possible for us to keep going in the face of this, especially when we haven’t achieved much independent before. However, if you push forward, you can be positive that things will go your way, and deserve to at that.

I hope that this information has helped you take that practical step from dream to plan, and I wish you all the success in the future. If this isn’t the blog you inspire to have then there is nothing wrong in that. I feel that in the blogging world there is so much pressure to be the best and it’s wrong. As long as you are happy that is all that truly matters.
